Recreation Opportunities
List of Recreation Activities at Wilmore Reservoir
   New at Wilmore:

  • electricity has been installed at the picnic pavilions
  • the composting toilets have been installed and are working properly
  • public access is available to Wilmore East Rec Area, where a pavilion and picnic tables have been installed
  • a swing set has been installed

Recreation Areas
Wilmore Reservoir has two Recreation Areas: South, near the breast of the Reservoir, the most commonly used site; and East, a.k.a. Patrick's Road or the Stump Club Area. Both rec areas have composting toilets, access to hiking/biking trails, pavilions, and picnic tables.

Wimore Recreation Area

 Wilmore South, accesssed via Law Road, also  has a handicap-accessible fishing pier and boat  launch, as well as adequate parking area.

 Wilmore East, accessed via Patrick's Road, is  closed at certain points along the access road  when the weather is unfavorable. Usually, this is  from late November to mid-March.

 Additionally, a parking area is available at  Wilmore North, located off of Spinner Road.  Walk-in only is available from the parking lot to  the reservoir.

 

Rates and Fees
Currently, there are no charges for recreation at the Wilmore Reservoir. Pavilions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis; if you would like to reserve a pavilion, you may call the CSA office at (814) 532-8942; there will be a $25 reservation fee. Fee must be submitted at least 3 days prior to reservation date.

Please be sure to be properly licensed by the appropriate State agencies when fishing, boating, and hunting. PA Fish & Boat and Game Commission Regulations do apply. All boats must possess a use Aerial Map of the Wilmore Reservoir with marked routepermit issued by the PA F&BC or PADCNR.

Directions to Wilmore South from Route 219:
Please note posted speed limits!

  • Take the exit for Route 53 (Portage/South Fork exit)
  • Turn right, following Route 53 East to Wilmore
  • Turn left at the stoplight onto Route 160 North
  • Turn Right onto Willow Beach Road
  • Turn Right onto Law Road
  • Follow this road to the Reservoir

Future Plans at the Wilmore Reservoir include:

  • continued operation of the recreation areas
  • continued availability of public boating and fishing
  • application for a PFBC Boating Facilities Grant
